Tips to get the best currency exchange rates in Canberra
1. Avoid foreign money exchange at airports.
The kiosks at Canberra airport have very high overheads, making exchange rates less attractive for you to buy and sell. Try to exchange your travel money away from the airports before or after your journey.

Does the exchange rate vary depending on location?
Yes. You may see slight variations across our store networks, though our Canberra stores will have very similar rates. Several reasons contribute to this, including what quantities of the currency you require our Canberra stores have in their safes! A great example is if another customer has just sold us a large amount of the money you are after – our teams have more room to move on the margins.
Do you have any minimum or maximum transaction limits?
You won’t encounter any minimum or maximum restrictions when you trade with Crown Currency Exchange. Whether you need to buy a little amount of foreign currency for a vacation or a large amount for company purposes, we’re here to help.
Do you charge any commission or fees?
We have zero fees and zero commissions! We use a simple retail model for our business – exactly like what happens at your local supermarket. We buy in the currency, add a margin, and then sell it to you. Simple with no confusing add-ons!
What are your store opening hours?
This depends on the location – generally, Monday-Saturday hours are 9am to 5pm and Sunday hours are 10am to 4pm. However, there are some variances between stores – so please make sure you check out your local store details in the “Find us” section of the site.
