What's happening

Every Crown Store Gets a Donation Box

Most travellers come home with a handful of coins they can't spend or sell back. Until now, they ended up in a kitchen drawer.

From Monday 26 October, every Crown store will have a lockable Coins for Change box where customers can drop leftover foreign currency. The money goes to charity. Our Queensland stores have run this for some time, and now it is rolling out across the network.

Your part in store

Five Things to Remember

Keep It Visible

Place the box behind the counter. Customers should see it, but not be able to reach it.

Treat It Like Cash

Lock it in the safe or a cupboard whenever the counter is unattended or the store is closed.

Mention It

When a customer is cashing up, let them know the box is there for anything we can't buy back.

Keep Buying Back

Anything we would normally buy back should still be bought back. The box is for what's left over.

Hand It Over

Your regional leader or area manager empties the box on their regular visits. If it fills up before then, let them know.

That's it.

Five small habits. Collection, shipping and conversion are handled by your RL or AM, the hub store and CGE.

At the counter, you could say

"We can't buy back these coins, but you're welcome to drop them in our Coins for Change box. It all goes to Australian charities."

See What Customers See

Take a few minutes to look through the Coins for Change page on our website. It explains how the program works, shows the partners we support and keeps a running total of what Crown customers have donated. It's the best place to send customers who want to know more.
